I’m interested in hearing ideas from movielens users on how we might operationalize these features.

Half of that is done by the movie tuner. The developers just need to make a little more obvious that it is tag based and how it works. And make it awailable right from the movie details page, not two unrelated clicks away.

Interesting! Hadn’t thought users would care. Let’s see if this issue gets more support.
The two reasons for the current choice:
1. part of our new site’s color palette
2. we wanted the “rated” color to be more vibrant than the “predicted” color (unlike the current site). An error occurred while saving the comment horsh commented
1. Be consistent.
2. The rated ones are not interesting anymore. I am not going back to them. -

We are planning to add the capability of filtering by language, which I think gets you what you’re looking for.
I suppose the other option would be to have a filter to “hide a genre” – e.g., all genres except x. We’re not planning that one, but happy to hear feedback.

Thanks for the feedback! We do have a very international user base, so this makes sense.

Negitive parameters are important. I.e. "sci-fi, BUT NOT animation".
