Hey, I recommend a site called justwatch - if I have stuff I find on movielens to watch, I plug it into justwatch and then it tells me where it's available for streaming or rental. It has pretty much every streaming service, including some free ones you might not have heard of. Highly recommend in conjunction w/movielens.

agreed, (or rather, I want to be able to hide them when I want to) but voted on an earlier posting with this same suggestion that had more votes (to consolidate votes) :)

sometimes I have rated something because I've seen it but I want it on my wishlist b/c i want to watch it again. Personally, I like the ability to control them independently (wishlist and ratings)

this would be great, ideally with integration for other streaming services, too, or for imdb, which has become unusable since updates a few months ago.

I agree with the user below who said "I much prefer the search filters to any sort of "viewing habits" filter - I like deciding what I'm in the mood to watch by seeing all the options. I second the comment below - make it optional."
Viewing habits that filter for me without me agreeing to said filtering are why I hate netflix's interface (and b/c they keep changing the stupid cover art every few minutes so I can't tell if I'm looking at the same title or not).
Also folks talking about no longer being into a certain phase or not being in the mood for something they'll likely really enjoy...I don't get. It's counter-intuitive to me because the reason I am interested in a site like movielens is specifically to find more movies I'll really love (and to think about what makes me love a movie, specifically) rather than the same not great stuff I might end up watching b/c streaming sites push their content on me in a way they think I'll want. Like, it's a GREAT thing when movie lens reminds me how much I like a genre I haven't been watching lately so I can get back into it.

We have started building this feature. We hope that it will be available by Spring.

But please don't force social features onto users (please make them opt in, not opt out, if possible). Not every site has to have social network features. I like that movielens doesn't ask me to friend or follow anyone.

I know I'm in the minority, but I actually really *like* that this is a movie site, not a tv site. If you add tv shows, I'd love if you could make it easy for users to filter to "just movies" (or "just tv"). I'd also love if the "about your ratings" page kept tv and movies separate (or had the option to toggle between separating or not). Thanks for listening!

I agree!!!! I made a "user voice" account to suggest/request this, but saw you already had. It was a year and a half ago though, so, this could really use a signal boost. Every time I Look at the pie chart, I want to click to see which movies are "common," "medium," and "rare!"

can't you just go to the "movies I've rated" list yourself and then re-rate whatever you like? I don't see the benefit of being blind to you former rating.
