Relevance
Hello everyone!
I do not find very relevant an indication based on 5 or 6 votes (which lacks consistency, given that the predicted score will probably change a lot as more users rate that particular movie).
My idea is to create a new indicator that should be named RELEVANCE.
I think the formula should be:
Confidence Level * Predicted Score = RelevanceThat way a movie with a very high predicted score based on very few ratings would not be very relevant for me (yet) - it would rate low on relevance. It would not be relevant a movie that…

Top Picks needs adjusting
On page 1 (of 2880) of my "Top Picks" I see a couple films predicted only 2.8 stars. Yet on page 4, I see a film predicted 4.1. That is an extremely high prediction for me, I rarely see over 3.5, yet it is buried under 4 pages of lower predictions. Why? Funnily enough, this film, which is a period drama, has appeared on page 1 before. Yet after I watch a different period drama, which I give a high rating, it suddenly drops back 3 pages, despite the predicted score rising. Why? It makes no sense. If anything, my…

Idea to dramatically simplify the popular vs hard-to-find movie balance.
To simplify things: remove the “less popular” and “more popular” slider and simply replace it with 2 sections on the front page... “Top Picks” and “Rare Gems,” “Recent Releases” etc
One section would be popular movies, one section would be less popular movies that match your preferences. With the current system you have to choose one or the other, and it’s unintuitive. Sometimes I’m in the mood for popular movies, other times i’m in the mood for rare indie movies. With this system i have to change the slider each time.

Filter wishlist
Give option to hide wishlist (clearly I haven't seen them and would like other suggestions) movies in top picks for you page.

Upload Netflix Watchlist history to queue movies for ratings
Netflix let's users export their watchlist which is limited to date and title so not the best for exact version matches, but it would make a good fuzzy match to a set of movies with similar names. These could be asked to be rated or at least marked as possibly watched hint to ask later.

Label movies available on blu-ray
Can you label movies that are available on blu-ray? I prefer to watch movies in this format when possible.

Applying tags to multiple movies
As a new user of the site, I think the tagging feature could be improved upon by having the tagging menu not only showing the movies you've already tagged, but also giving you to possibility to add the tag to other movies as well.
For example: if I have tagged a movie with the composer John Williams, it would be a lot easier if I can assign the same tag to all his other movies by just searching for them and adding them to the tag, than having to go to each individual movie to do it the other way…

Move the "clear this search" button to the left
First of all, thanks for this tool! I have been looking for something like this for a while. When I make a search using the filter tool, the most intuitive location to keep the "submit" button is on the right side from a UI perspective. It comes out of muscle memory of having the intended action on the right side of the modal. Thank you!

When rating movies, show us similar movies we’ve rated and our scores so our ratings are gauged better and stay more accurate
When rating a movie, it would be great to see what we rated something similar. For example if we think movie A was pretty amazing but when we go to rate it we noticed we liked Movie B better, we would give movie A a slightly lower.
This would piggy back with ideas that we can be recommended movies that have high correlation with other certain users that have rated the same movies a super high score.
For example, if person A & person B gave Thriller movies 1 and 2 five stars but person B hasn’t seen movie 3.…

Update the search function so titles do not have to be exact.
Ex: Batman vs. Superman doesn't work. Batman V Superman does...
If you search Batman vs. Superman, it should come up with the closest matching titles first that contain those three words.

Add gamification to incentivize new tags that become popular
When I when a user adds a new tag end it later becomes popular, give the user points proportional to how many other people use the same tag for the same movie. Give fewer points to the second and third person who helped the tag move up the list.

Developer building Media Server Plugin could use an API... but may not be entirely necessary.
While writing a movie recommendation application using ML.net which I intend on integrating into my Emby Media Server, I realized that access to an API for movie lens would be very helpful.
Currently My Media Server DB will use TMDB ID's to reference provider data for my library. However because MovieLen uses it's own internalIds in the dataset, it would be great to access the TMDB ID to make the connection between the entry in the dataset, and the entry in my own library.
I suppose I could scrape the site to get the TMDB Ids and the MovieLens Ids.…

Recommendation-Filtering similar to Youtube Topics
I often watch arthouse movies, but some days I wake up and want some "guilty pleasure" kinda movie.
Some days I'm sad and want something depressed, the other days something hopeful would be nice. What I want to say is that people's taste isn't something static. They watch different kinds of movies and their recommendations could reflect this diversity. For implementation there could be something similar to Youtube's Topics Filters on the homepage that could change recommendations based on your mood/topic.

year of release
Hello,
could you change the site in a way that the year the movie was released is also shown in the websites title (not only the movie title)?
I was thinking of trying it with a userscript and chat-gpt but I couldn't find anything in the source code of the website I could give to chatGPT to work with :D

Movies grid
I see that you are using a fluid interface, but in my screen I am seeing 24 films in a grid of 5x5, leaving thus an empty position at the end.
I don't know what you can do and I see that 24 is a very divisible number, but there is this error case.2 votesThanks for the suggestion – this would be nice to fix.

Consider language in you suggestions
I very rarely watch films in languagues other than English, Spanish or Portuguese and I have very little interest in other language movies, however over half of my top picks are pictures in other languages like italian, french.
I have a few user friends that think alike, please take it into consideration changing the algorithm

Consider year/decade in your suggestions
I very rarely watch films that are previous to the 70's, and favour movies from the 90's and after.
I have very little interest in older movies, however I have a great number of movies that are older,My votes show this preference, has 80% of my votes are from movies from the 80's or later.

Decrease the weight of the age of the movies in making recommendations
Having lived for awhile I have seen many more older movies than newer ones. Because I have reviewed more older movies the recommender seems to think I mostly enjoy older movies. It seems that they bubble up to the top even when they are not similar to items I have liked in the past.

Let user see tag cluster associated with their tuner, recommender.
Have interface to let user define and save tag clusters for searching.
