Tag browsing?
I would really like to see a list of all the tags (not just the most common ones), just like I can see all the genres. Does this exist and I'm just missing it?
PS: MovieLens has been a favorite of mine for years. The new site design is such a pleasant surprise! Absolutely beautiful UX. You are bringing innovative movie-digesting epicness to the masses :) Congratulations!
1 voteThanks for the positive feedback, we appreciate it!
At the top of the “community tags” section, there’s a toggle that reads “view: top/all”. Click on “all”.

search box
I don't like having to find a button to click on to open the search box on the first page.
1 voteWe now have a search box that is always present at the top of the page.

We implemented a rough equivalent of the “info link” if you do your searches in list mode rather than grid/image mode.

have the searchbox accessible at all times
why press a button to have it visible, when there is room for it to be there always?

Wizard recommender mis-ordering?
Hi,
It seems that the Wizard recommender doesn't order the recommendations correctly if there are too many films in the whole set. I see films with 3.5 star recommendations above 4 star, and this persists until I add in a filter that reduces the total number of films selected eg num. ratings.
I presume this is a bug, and hopefully one that can be easily fixed?
Thanks for the site, and keep up the good work. I look forward to reading what you've found out about recommendations and choices!
1 voteHi John, thanks for the suggestion. This isn’t a bug (we’re not ordering strictly by prediction). However, we’ve gotten other reports on this one, and recognize that it is confusing. I think we’ll probably add separate sorting options: sort by predicted rating, and sort by movielens recommended order.

Explain what the recommendation options mean.
We have two recommendation options (the warrior and the wizard) that are both based on personnal rating. On the other hand I, and most probably other people as well, have no idea what is the difference between them two. It would be so easy and fast to just put and explanation mark or short comment explaining the difference in a friendly manner for the people to see (myself included).

recommender
what is the difference between the different recommenders?
1 voteHi! We’re currently conducting research into how our members use this feature, so we are keeping the details secret. Basically, they represent different algorithms for computing your recommendations.

Please add "remember me" feature
Love the sight, typically use it 5-7 times a week! Sometimes I am asked to log back in, and I would love it if there was a 'remember me' function so that I don't have to do this anymore! Thanks!
Love this site, and the old one also!1 vote -
for some reason no recommendations
Don't know why, voted over 200. Feel like there should be something to recommend. Not sure if bug but feel this feedback is needed.
1 voteThanks for the feedback. Seems to be a common issue with the wizard recommender.

typing in the search bar
recently, when typing multiple words in the search bar, the cursor deletes spaces, so when I type "The Hunt for Red October" it becomes "TheHuntForRedOctober." I don't recall this happening before, and it doesn't happen on any other sites I use.
1 voteThis issue has been fixed. Thanks for reporting this.

Is there any chance for this site to be close in the next 2 years?
I just discovered this site and I think that this is the best site for making a catalog for the movies. My main question is: Is there any chance that this site won't be avalable in the next 2 years? I'm thinking about making this site my only one for that kind of thing, since I don't facebook, friends or anything to have a nice interface for making a catalog.
Thank you
1 voteThis site has operated since 1997, and it’s still going strong. It will almost certainly be around for (much) more than two years. We hope :)

Filter by movie rating
Is there already a way to do this? My family chooses not to watch R rated films. It would be great to be able to weed those out of the suggested selections.
1 voteIn any page of search results, click “more” then select “mpaa”, and click the ones you want.

Spirit still running?
The note on the Spirit recs says that it'll quit after two months, but it's been a lot longer than that. Is the study still going?
1 voteYes, it’s still running, but you’re free to turn it off any time if you don’t like it!

Are A LOT OF movies missing?
Do a lot of movies disappear from the site?
1 voteWe had an unexpected error last night, movies are back now.

Advanced Search/Multiple Genre Search
As a lot of movies fall under more than one genre, it would be nice to be able to search more than one genre at a time. For example I'm looking for some Drama/Thriller/Crime/Romance movies, but, if I'm only able to search one of these at a time, the results are hard to sift through.
1 voteThe most recent update to movielens now has a multi-genre sesarching in the search tools. If you pick multiple genres you can limit to only movies with ALL of the genres, or get all movies with ANY of those movies.

Fix give feedback button
The give feedback button at the bottom of the screen opens a new window of movielens.org instead of coming here.
1 voteHowdy, I’m sorry it took us a while to notice this issue, but it has been fixed!

better server?
I love your website, but response times frequently stall out, perhaps an overloaded server?
1 voteThis should be fixed now. Let us know if you have further issues.

Nothing Personal (2009) has the wrong graphic
the image doesn't match the film
1 voteHowdy, we’re using the image from TMDB: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/45806-nothing-personal While it seems to be a different poster than the US release and the IMDB poster, It does seem to be for the same movie. Sorry for the confusion.
