Rework site code to use links
Currently almost everything on site uses JS to open pages. This makes opening new tabs close to impossible and very annoying. Like this feedback window, it links to home page instead of having a proper url. Movies "links" too aren't links.

Revert Tile Changes
The new tile changes, while visually appealing, significantly reduce ease of use for the site. I enjoyed that I could rate, hide, or wishlist any movie with static buttons which were always in the same place on the movie's tile. This allowed for quick rating and quick watchlisting. Now I must hover to pop up the star ratings and have to click into a context menu to either hide the movie or add it to the watchlist. There are a couple others on here who asked for this but it's been years with no feedback onto whether you were going to do this!

Separate actor/director search
Previously, the actor/director search seemed to be separate. Now, when I click on the director of a film, I'm also getting films in which they have an acting role. This is pretty much removing the utility of the function, and something on which I hope the course can be reversed.

Start Following Up with Movielens Feedback
It would be great if this feedback site was still used, but it seems like the last post here was 3 years ago. Otherwise it would be cool for users to get to see what is in the works and what the new features are / historical features were. Perhaps share a timeline with us.

Add a "Classics" category!
It's not a genre per se, but it would be great if you had a "Classics" genre, for people like me really trying to educate themselves about the most famous "oldies". I know you can research movies by release year, but I still think it would be great if they had their own category.

sort by rating does not work when viewing my previously rated movies.
It throws a javascript error in the debug console on chrome for osx and ios, also doesn't work on firefox.

Movie recommendations based on a specific set of films
Hi, when I want to see a movie I oftentimes want to see a movie that is similar to or has the same atmosphere/vibe as a couple of other movies that pop up in my head. Wouldn't it be a great idea to make it possible to get movie recommendations not only from the total of your ratings but also get recommendations based on a selection of a few "favourite" movies?
For example: I very much enjoy movies A, B and C. I have however not given them my highest rankings since I do not consider them the best movies…

Be able to sort by language of the movie (as in ML Classic)
Pr I'd like to be able to look for say: "Italian" movies and then specify say:"comedies". I can't do that now. When I put in "foreign" under Genre, I get 5 results.

Show the movie name in the tab
In Chrome, it just shows "MovieLens" in the tab title. It would be nice if it also showed the name of the movie you have opened in that tab, for faster navigation when you have multiple tabs open. This is what Rotten Tomatoes does.

Make movie stats into links to my movie ratings
On my movie stats page the breakdown of my movies is fascinating. It would be awesome if "rare movies" for example would be a clickable link to show me which of my movies are rare, or which of my movies fall into a specific genre.

Please remove the duplicate "TV movie" genre
When I view my movie stats there is a duplicate genre for TV Movie. One has correct capitalization, and your current algorithms recognize that data point. There is a 2nd genre called "TV movie", which is incorrectly capitalized. Your system does not recognize this as a usable data point. Somewhere in your lines of code a single letter is mis-typed, resulting in a duplication of the TV Movie genre label (which likely has very few movies assigned to it, if any).

Recommend movies for people to watch together
My wife and I really struggle to find anything to watch together, on the rare occasions when we have time, we spend half an hour trying to find something and then neither of us are even into it! Being able to link accounts and see the top recommendations for both of us to watch together would be an amazing feature.

Slow website
The movielens website takes a long time for me to load and it is also slow when I click on something. Is there any chance you could speed it up? It really affects how much I use this platform.
