How do we edit movies that have incomplete information
Often, I add release date, omitted key actor, or omitted language to a movie entry. Are we to keep doing that, and how? If not, who will police this?
1 voteWe provide a link to tmdb, which hosts the movie information

have the searchbox accessible at all times
why press a button to have it visible, when there is room for it to be there always?

We implemented a rough equivalent of the “info link” if you do your searches in list mode rather than grid/image mode.

When searching for movies, ignore special characters
When looking through the titles on Movielens, any special characters like 'ó' or 'ñ' should be seen as plaintext, like 'o' and 'n'. These characters are not easy to type, and such specificity isn't necessary. For example, if you typed "Automata" into the search field, the movie Autómata is not listed as a search suggestion, nor is it a search result. If the 'ó' character was viewed as an 'o' this would not be the case.

Deleting tags
Can we please have some way to delete tags from movies? Every computer animated movie seems to be tagged "Pixar".
I know it wouldn't do to have people deleting other peoples' tags, but maybe the tags could be deleted from public view if a certain number of users delete them?
Thanks

New additions missing
Please bring back the new additions option.
It was one of the features I most often used.1 vote -
Hidden list can not be accessed and more related stuff
I can not find the list of hidden ratings which exists on the older version. Also films I have hidden are not hidden on the new site (at least I can't see any difference compared to other films I have not rated).

Slash to open search does not focus the search box (in Firefox)
In Firefox the forward slash key opens the "quick search" feature. You need to .preventDefault() on the event (or some such) to avoid having it steal focus from the in-page search feature.
1 voteThanks for the bug report. This has been fixed in our development version, and the patch will be live soon.

Fix search auto complete keyboard usage
The beta site looks fantastic. If I type a title into search I get auto complete values, nice! If I press down-arrow and then enter to select one, I get a blank page that says there are no results. If I click with the mouse, then it works as expected.

RottenTomatoes
Can you add the RottenTomatoes link like the previous version add? It's the main way for me to evaluate if I really feel like watching that movie or not.

Selecting a search suggestion with the enter key does not work.
If you start entering a movie title in the search bar, suggestions will be displayed underneath it. You can highlight these by using the arrow keys. However, if you hit enter to select a suggestion, you get a page with the title of the movie displayed on top and "No results!" displayed underneath it. But if you click on the result it pulls up the movie without a problem. Really minor bug, but it is something I've encountered numerous times.
3 votesThanks for the bug report. I replicated it in firefox. We will fix this bug soon.

Where's the big counter?
"You've rated 1387 movies." Missing this direly from the new beta thingy, which is really-really nice, by the way.

Make it easier to see how many movies I've rated (was: total film ratings tally)
Just wondering if there's a way to tell how any films you've rated as I can't seem t find that number on the new site.

Allow me to hide recommended films
If there's a film recommended for me and I don't like it, I should be able to hide it and that should influence what else is recommended for me.
1 voteThe “hide this” functionality is available in the ratings widget. Click the three bars to the left of the stars and select “hide this”.

Search by actor/actress/director
So I often am looking for an actor's body of work and, unless I'm missing out on something vital, I have to think of a film they have been in, search for that film first and then click on the actor's name to see their films. I would like to be able to just search for an actor or actress.
The same goes for directors.1 vote -

Ha ha, thanks for the positive feedback. We have a few big missing features to build before we can make this the new site, but it’s going to happen this summer!
update: done!

Make it possible to see which movies are on the wish list
In the old search results it was possible in a glance to see which movies were already on one's wish list. It would be nice if there was a small check (or something similar) on the movie image to let you know without having to click on whether that the movie is already on your wish list.
