Return poster to where trailer now is
Apparently someone decided it's a good idea to move trailers to the space where movie posters previously were.
It was not a good idea. The trailer poster often gives you zero information about the movie and quite honestly looks like crap compared to the posters. Which have been designed to be visual and try to be interesting. Please return the posters where they belong. At least give us an option to choose instead of forcing this on everyone.

Ok, no problem. And regarding your suggestion, it is a very good one which we are definitely going to look into and try to come up with a solution that works best for maximum of our users. Thank you once again.

Ok, I remembered wrong then. But in any case I would much rather see the poster there instead of the trailer. Maybe you could create a user setting which allows to choose which one is shown.

Hello Kimmo,
The posters on the movie details pages have not been changed. The only thing that has changed is the overlaying play button. It could be that that design does not appeal to you and that is why you find it strange now. We're constantly looking at ways to improve the current design and your feedback is most welcome. Thank you. As far as trailers go, some trailers do not work. We get our trailers directly from Youtube and therefore have less control over them. Trailers may not work because of several reasons. The most common ones are: copyright issues, can not be embedded on websites other than Youtube, or that the corresponding videos have been taken down by their owner from Youtube. We are looking into solutions to solve this problem. Currently, as a user you can flag a trailer if it does not exist (Top right corner of the trailer view). By doing this, you'll be helping us get rid of such non-existent trailers faster. Thank you for your feedback and we hope to continue hearing from you about issues and suggestions on how to make Movielens better.

Not sure if we are talking about the same thing. An example below.
This looks like crap:
http://i.imgur.com/uUvNxYU.pngCompare to this, which used to be where the trailer now is, or at least I seem to remember it was that way.
http://i.imgur.com/R4WCfS6.pngThe posters look much nicer than some random stills from the trailer(?).
That particular trailer doesn't even work as the video doesn't exist.
From a poster you can quickly see things and get some feeling about film. A trailer still image doesn't really do the same. I have zero interest to start watching the trailers. -

Hello Kimmo,
Thanks for the feedback. It is a new feature that we are trying in Movielens and we really appreciate you taking time to give us feedback on it. Through the new feature we're trying to recommend trailers of the movies we think you'd like. We'd really be interested in knowing more about why you dislike the new feature. Do you see recommendations of 'More trailers to watch' below the trailer? These recommendations do not appear for movies for which we do not have much data, so if you saw just the trailer appearing without recommendations below, that was probably the reason. Thank you once again for your feedback.
