    Once there is an API (https://movielens.uservoice.com/forums/238501-general/suggestions/6404521-api-for-creating-and-updating-a-profile), anyone can do this.

    Very true, we’ve found in our research that this is the case. It would be nice to have a “rating mode” where you can turn the predicted stars off.
