Please do not remove them - there's a suggestion on this site to add *more* series, and it has more votes than this :-) Rather, let's make it easy to filter out (or in!) series.

People with certain services (such as Netflix and, hmm, bittorrent) find it just as easy to watch an entire series as watching a movie - it's just a (very very) long movie - so there is no reason not to recommend it as well, I think.

I prefer the recommendation in "Series recommendation besides movies", to rate series in their entirety, not by season.
As an example, I just finished watching the series "Bones" - all 12 seasons of it (took me several years :-)). Sure, I could have been very accurate about liking season 3 a bit better than season 2, and season 11 was not as good as 10, and so on, but I don't think there's much point in that level of detail - I think I should just be able to say I loved this series, and would like to see more series like that.

Rating individual seasons, beyond being more effort, also makes less sense in two other points:

    1. Imagine that you only saw and rated season 1 of Bones, but someone else only saw season 12 (the last season). Shouldn't you be able to use the ratings of the different seasons to say something about your common taste - assuming that the series did not drastically change between season 1 and 12 (in my experience, they never do).

    2. With seasons individually rated, you can start getting recommendations like "You should see season 5 of Bones". Yes, someone can do it (in most series, it is possible to enter in the middle), but why? Why not start with season 1, if your video source has it, or with some other season if you could only get that?
