Thanks for the info. We need to build up our movie database management tools to address problems like this. Coming!

Allow the addition of movies (for wish lists) but prevent rating them until they near their release date.

Some people get advanced screenings, so one month before release would be reasonable.

Allow users to add unreleased movies though - my wish list includes movies that haven't been released yet.

I was gradually adding movies I own and tagging them "own." My movies are in alphabetical order, and it's difficult to keep track of what I added without an alphabetical sort.

I agree, and also like the suggestion that you could filter TV series out. Sometimes I really do only want to watch a movie. But half my Netflix queue is TV series, and I'd like to rate them here and get additional recommendations.

The search features are wonderful, if a little difficult to get to. Comments below mentioned filtering by language - I've never come across this, and would like to use this feature. My work-around is to find a movie in the preferred language and click on the link under language. An easier way to filter for language would be great.

I much prefer the search filters to any sort of "viewing habits" filter - I like deciding what I'm in the mood to watch by seeing all the options. I second the comment below - make it optional.

The unique value of Movielens--other than its deadly accuracy--is that it will recommend movies I've never heard of. I can go on lots of other movie sites and get the latest blockbuster brain candy recommendation.

Or a feature similar to the "release date" filter - we can set the minimum and maximum running time we wish to see.

Or when I type a tag, it would be helpful to see "popular tags similar to [what I typed] are:" and a list of tags with how often they've been used on the site. So rather than 20 different tags that all basically mean "so bad it's good," there would be one popular tag we could all use.
