this tablet-style layout version is unusable.
Old version is not trendy sexy, but it does what it is needed. No need to dumb everything down.

Thanks for trying to be constructive, your comment helps me understand your perspective. Many of the problems you raise are known issues, or things that we're currently working on. We released the new version as a "preview" so that our users can give us feedback before we actually change over (and before we release a polished version of the site).
I am going to close this thread, since it contains many ideas - if other users come along and add votes, I will have no idea what they are voting on.

First of all, new version is unreadable. You don't have text to read. Is this a way to introduce this service for illiterate? You only need to recognize the movie cover.
The older version has tens of times more information on screen. You have list of movies, instead of 10 huge size posters and big stars. In windows system you still have explorer where you can select whether you explore the folders with huge icons or tight informative details list. Is it impossible to implement selection "light list with details - no images" or "huge images no text".
Older version I can see new releases both theatrical or DVD.
As someone posted the legend explanation for stars is quite useful if you want to unite ratings.
Searching is easier when you have really options to tighten it down with search criteria.
New search doesn't even understand two different words and gives load of results just based on one word of the search.
You don't have IMDB or rotten tomatoes linking anymore.
The design and layout might look sleek but who needs huge size banner picture of the movie? You have background image size of 1 280px × 720px for wasting bandwith. I could use the old version with old phone and crappy connection. Now I wouldn't even bother.
Seems like it is just classic design over usability. Just because it is old it doesn't mean it's useless. Or have user numbers and rated movies collapsed in recent years?
